Dear Motor Mouse,
The Strengthening of the Motorcycle Team is now fact. That will say that our team, as mentioned in the May edition of our Newsletter, has been strengthened full time with Robert Buijs. Rob is a Ducati specialist of the purest kind. A "Ducatist" in heart and soul, with great contacts at the Ducati factory/ Ducati Museum and Italy (he is a representative for the famous and revived Moto Giro d'Ítalia). Rob has been a hobbier with classics for 21 years among which 10 with classic and modern Ducati's. Of course with the link to Moto Morini en English Motorcycles. Needless to say, he has a small but nice personal collection of Ducati motorcycles. In all this means for TMC, that we have a coworker who can assist you with advise and work And the necessary information about this famous Italian brand of motorcycle and who speaks the Italian language. He is also an admirer of anything classic, not just the Italian ones. We feel very privileged with Robs addition to our team.
For the MOTORCYCLE TEAM, Harm Heuvelman and Rob Buijs

2. TMC: exclusive importer and supplier of Ducatis line of "Old Racing Spare Parts" of Mario Sassi We are very proud to say that we are, as exclusive importer, able to supply the line of "Old Racing Spare Parts" from Mario Sassi . But who is Mario Sassi you might ask? As "Ducati-Godfather". Well, Mario Sassi has been known for years, as the Italian restorer of classic Ducati motorcycles, especially the V-twin 750, 860 and 900cc kings axle models These kings axles, mono and V-twin models where designs by the genius constructor Fabio Taglioni, who made hundreds of designs during his long carrier with Ducati. Taglioni came to Ducati in 1954 as head constructor in the Bologna pant. The first design he realised for his new employer was the100cc "Marianna" Gran Sport model With a kings axle and cog powered with an above laying ridge axle. This successful model was presented to the public in March of 1955 and became the base for a series of Ducati one cylinder ohc models. The 350cc ohc Ducati one cylinder engine would practically form the base for the, in 1971 introduced, kings axle 750cc V-twin model. More, much more, about the history of Ducati, you can read in the highly recommended Dutch Book "Ducati", by Luc Freson, a book on which Rob Buijs also lend his hand. .
Lovers and visitors of Italian motorcycle shows and markets, will undoubtedly have been able to admire pieces of Mario Sassi's restoration knowledge on Ducatis. Through the years, Sassi didn't only gather an enormous knowledge about this almost mythical Italian brand, but also has been able to built up a broad Ducati restoration network in Italy and other countries.
This all has lead, due to the increasing demand for Ducati parts, to his "Old Racing Spare Parts" company, which he started in 2000. A company with a supply program mainly for Ducati parts, in the broadest meaning possible. The emphasis laying on the mono- and V-twin kings axle models for racing and road use. For the road Bikes, the emphasis is on the sports models in the original editions. For the Ducati race models, he supplies the parts for the classic race look, as well for the factory- as for the NCR editions. Even though Sassi has gathered an enormous stock of Ducati parts through the years, His collection of spare parts depleted because of the parts susceptible to wear. To be able to make the demand, he then took the initiative to have these parts manufactured according to the most modern specifications. This means that Sassi now has, almost all Ducati parts, engine-, frame- and cowl parts, in stock and if necessary manufactors. Often better then the originals. For our company it means we can offer you e.g. race drive shafts annex big end sets, pistons, ridge axles, valves, titanium valve springs, race exhausts , frames (original and race) and even original spoke hubs. With all probability, we will be able to supply you with Borani look rims in the near future.
A good example is a high light out of this supply program: a Ducati race-frame For the wide carter engine blocks. This is a frame with a modified ball head angel Suitable for conic ball head bearings and made from an ultra light chroommolybdeen tube. Important to say is that this is an exact replica of the original race frame, which turned out not to be 100% perfect, but revised with out compromising the original look, which is a great way to improve the handling and racing pleasure of a Ducati even more
TMC supplies for Ducati "street"-motorcycles also plugs, pakkingsets, rubber gaskets, cables, Original paint colors for V-twins, tank seats, side lids, actually everything to give your mono- of V-twin Ducati (again) the original look. For the mono cylinder and V-twin models still working with spark plug ignition we can now offer a modern ignition. The later V-twin models had a Bosch ignition which now can be rebuild to a 12 volt electronic one. A good thing about that, next to a more reliable ignition, is that these parts will be available until the end of time. A very comforting thought. Another part we can supply is the folding brake pedal for desmo Ducatis.
The above, is just a small hand out of the parts we can get you concerning the kings axle and Other models of Ducati in mono and V-cylinder editions. It is always better to come and see what our company can get you on the Ducati front , in person. Ask us for the beautiful catalog with the original pictures, technical information and supplying terms..
3. What we offer for sale Who does not appreciate the small, is not worth the tall, we like to say in Dutch. That is why we like to draw your attention in this newsletter to the smaller cylinder capacity "little" classics we offer for sale. We do not only carry the "big guns" in our showroom, but offer something for everyone motorcycle wise. Among others, these are two very nice and good English Triumph's models Terrier and Tiger Cub. The in 1953, as miniature, introduced Triumph "Terriër" with a 149cc engine annex four shift, telescope fork and shocks, received a brother later in the shape of the 200cc measuring Tiger Cub. The Terriër is, especially in The Netherlands, very rare. The Tiger Cub has earned its worldwide name and fame as trail metal. In our country it was, e.g. Henk Vink who won the Dutch championship trail in 1961 and 1962. Our Cub, has undergone trail modifications and can be modified/ perfected even more with Sammy Miller parts. TMC is also a representative of the famous English trail parts supplier Sammy Miller and can supply you with all their famous "goodies".
Measuring 175cc and relatively small, from Italian make, is the Motobi Catria, designed by Giuseppe Benelli. Money played no role restoring this rare Motobi ( in the way of a 125cc these are better known.), with its egg like shaped, stream lined engine block , this is a winner in waiting. With Motobi , ten Italian championships were won since 1959 in this special and popular 175cc class. More proof about the quality of this sporty model is almost unnecessary . More…fresh from Italy…we have a foursome of restoration projects with famous brand names On the gas tanks. These are a Ducati Cucciolo 48cc, a MV Augusta CS TL with 175cc ohc engine from about 1955, an elegantly modeled Mondial 175cc with ohc engine and a Moto Guzzi Lodola with175cc ohc engine. The Lodola is the last by Carlo Guzzi designed Guzzi model.
We also have several Moto Morini's in 350cc and 500cc editions, Fast and well steering Italian made motorcycles. Next to our heavier classics, our lighter ones are also definitely worth the visit to our company. Of course, as usual, you can do that while enjoying a freshly brewed, free cup of coffee.
4. New TMC activity: We rent classics TMC does not sit still and is constantly on the prowl for new activities to better serve our customers. A new activity, is the possibility to rent a classic motorcycle, because not everybody is able to truly taste what if is like to ride a classic motorcycle. That possibility is being offered now by TMC, with two Italian classics, a Moto Morini 350cc V-twin or a Laverda 750cc twin, type SF2. You may rent one (or both) per day, week or month. It is an interesting possibility to, let the ones riding a high tech motorcycle, enjoy the ride of a true classic. A way for us to prove that riding a classic simply means riding pleasure in Optima Forma. Also for you who are still hesitating to step onto a classic, wethe possibility to truly experience old fashioned motorcycle fun. An experience that- we give you fair warning- could lead to the purchase of a classic, to enjoy everyday. Maybe, you would just like to enjoy steering a classic Italian motorcycle for a day or so.
