We, and probably some of you too, were at the VEHIKEL in Utrecht. For us that meant three long days working in out booth, where we showed an interesting collection of our classic motors.
Among this was of course the first prize of our Lottery:

It was a very nice experience to meet so many friends and clients and talk about interesting and high quality classic motors.
We were happy to learn that so many appreciate our company policy. The selling (buying) of quality classic motors with a guarantee is considered by many as a valuable investment that often increases in value.

Of course we also talked about the successful Snertrit (Pea-Soup- ride) we had just before the Vehikel, and about the coming "enduro- ride for classic motors". (more in the newsletter)

We are looking forward to the spring. We want to take our motors out of hibernation and let them feel the asphalt again.

2. Our booth at the Vehikel in Utrecht
=====================================================
The Motorcycle Company had an attractive booth at the VEHIKEL Show in Utrecht. Among other motors and products we just mention:
-A RICKMAN built especially for this show with 500cc ABSAF BSA/GOLDSTAR motor block, nickel-plated frame, aluminium tank, central aluminium oil tank, and more other special café-racer parts. This built "Classic" really got lots of attention. And rightly so.
-Also the first prize of the lottery, The NORTON COMMANDO, got much attention.
-Our VINCENT 1000cc V-twin found during the show a buyer!
-The Moto Guzzi V7 Sport and Moto Morini are top products of Italian motor manufacturing and the number of admirers of these V-twins is still growing.
-Also present were the DAVIDA helmets, the ABSAF GOLD STAR BLOCK and a selection of "SASSI" parts, (Old Racing Spare Parts).

The best part of the show still is the contact we had with many of you and we hope for follow-up contacts during rides or in our showroom in Bergambacht, in the centre of Holland (Close to Schoonhoven).
The Motorcycle Company is already a meeting point of classic motorcycle lovers. Especially on Saturdays riders come and, while enjoying a cup of coffee, discuss their hobby and admire the classic motors in the showroom.

3. A classic Motorcycle a value proof investment
=====================================================
Driving a motor is tasting Freedom in a way almost impossible otherwise.
This can of course be done with a modern bike. You just enter a common bike shop and buy a high tech motorcycle. One out of many, which do not have real character.
These cycles loose within a few year a great deal of their value. Then not many persons are interested in a piece of high tech packed in plastic.

But compare with a classic motor. On average they have a lower purchase price. You also buy a piece of character that is an eye- catcher that you really can show your friends.

AND, last but not least, a classic motor does not only keep its value but even rises in value. So it is a very good INVESTMENT as well. Many classic motorcycle drivers (and collectors) already have experienced this.

By buying these certificates you can acquire lottery tickets at the same conditions as stated for direct sales.
These certificates keep their validity. (Better than the Dutch guilder which will be transfered into euro's!!)

5. Sales mediation

An interesting aspect for you can be our Sales Mediation.
Regularly persons want to change their motor or already did so. In that case it is important to sell your old motor for the best prize.
If it stands in your garage, nobody will see it.
And having bores at your door or on the phone is not the most pleasant thing.

An alternative is to let us mediate for you. Then your motor will be shown in our (nice, well warmed and lighted) showroom, and will be seen by many visitors.
The costs for that are very reasonable and NOW is the time that many prospective buyers are looking for a motor for the coming season.

Of course you also can exchange your motor. The large variety of motors we have in stock makes it very probable that you will find the motor you like.

6. Search orders
=====================================================
An interesting facet of the classic motorcycle hobby is that we all like to ride a real special motor.
O.K, riding a classic distinguishes you already from the masses, but even among friends it means something if you have this "white crow". But it happens very seldom that the special motor you would like to have, will be offered to you.
Our many contacts here and abroad very often make it possible to find just this white crow. So tell us if you are looking for a certain type. We discuss it and there is a chance you soon will have what you want.

a. SNERTRIT
Again we were so lucky that the weather gods were with us and supplied us with a cool but sunny day.
About 30 enthusiastic "pea-soup-drivers", with a variety of motor makes, had a very pleasant day.
TMC was represented by Harm Heuvelman on his Ducati Scrambler and Wim Marijnis on his Moto Morini Six Days cycle.
The start was at 12.00 hours. The route was through nice villages among which was Hoornaar where was a short stop at the "largest second-hand shop of the Netherlands".
Then we went via dykes and smaller roads to Vianen to "Boer Bertus" (farmer Bertus). Here we enjoyed a fantastic pea soup with bread and bacon around the burning fire.
Via nice roads we returned after a tour of 85 km to Bergambacht-TMC where the coffee again tasted excellently.
All participants enjoyed the ride and asked to organize this ride next year again.

b. ENDURO RIDE
Last year on Sunday November 5 about 70 owners of classic enduro motors were welcome in our company.
This year the M.C. '80 Ruinen will organize on Sunday March 11 during their Off Road Ride a special class for CLASSIC ENDURO MOTORS.

These can start one hour earlier then the modern riders at 09.30 hours.
Registration starts at 09.00 hours in the Sporthal "DE MARSE" in Ruinen. Ruinen is North East of Meppel.

8. Accessories for the classic motorcycle and his rider

There are accessories which belong to a classic motor like the salt in the "classic porridge". Also these you can find in our showroom.

-a classic and safe protection for your head. The best protection you can find is a DAVIDA crash-helmet and eye-glasses. These, with their classical image just give the finishing touch to driving a classic motor.
You can admire the selection in the showroom and soon on our web site.

-In the showroom you can find the complete selection of TOOLS of the famous make BETA of which we are dealer.
And you know, like we say: Good tools is half of the work.
On top of that we started the service to rent "torque wrenches", and found that clients like this very much.
-If you are looking for a blue number plate, we can supply them.

-"Old Racing Spare Parts" (SASSI) from Italy are available now. There is an extensive program of parts and tools for race and street
"Bevel drive" Ducati's, as well for the 1- as the 2-cylinder models.

-Driving a classic motor is nicest when done in "style" and to that belongs besides the right helmet also the right clothing.
BELLSTAF is an old well known manufacturer of quality and durable motor clothing in authentic style.
One of our staff already uses for 35 years a Bellstaf wax coat and still is very happy with it. He even used it during the above mentioned Snertrit.

Under paragraph 2 we already mentioned our "specials building".
We mentioned the RICKMAN frame and ABSAF/BSA Gold Star block. But we can build everything like you want to have it.
We have available a great number of frames, blocks, carburettors,
ignitions, gearboxes, wheels, brakes, tanks etc. from which you can have a motor built. We can supply the parts, but you too can supply the parts you want yourself.
In cooperation we will build the motor of your dreams.

-A Benelli Sei, a six cylinder! Benelli was the first manufacturer who brought a six cylinder as street motor on the market. (Not Honda)
"Our" BENELLI has only 9000 km. On the teller and is like new.

-We have a range of BSA motors, models Lightning, Thunderbolt,
B50T (off-road), B25T (off-road), MX50 (motocross), Gold Stars, A10 etc.

-A real scrambler for street use is the AJS 18CS of +/- 1954 in the rare American way; still with the so called Jampot shock-absorbers.

In most cases you will not only keep the value, but the value of these motors do increase! So it is a good INVESTMENT as well.

And in this case it is even an investment that can increase 100 % or more within one month! (when you win!)

This lottery is really unique. It is the first time that in Belgium and The Netherlands a classic bike can be won in such a lottery.

The drawing will be on a Saturday in April by a well known motor personality under supervision of a notary.
