How we enjoyed our recent DUCATI BEVELDRIVE DAY!
Not only because we could receive so many good friends and make new ones,but also because so many told us how they enjoyed and appreciated this day. This is a stimulant to organize more of these happenings. More about that in our newsletter here below.
At our "END OF THE YEAR SHOW" we expect at least the same success as last year. Read on what you can expect.
We also have a preliminary look into the next year.
But first we wish you HAPPY HOLIDAYS and
A HAPPY AND HEALTHY 2002 (and beyond), in which we hope to cooperate with you in the same pleasant way.
For the MOTORCYCLE TEAM,
Harm en Robert

2. END OF THE YEAR SHOW 22 Dec. TO INCL. 5 Jan. 2002
=========================================================
From Saturday Dec. 22 we have this show.
For this purpose we collected some very fine motorcycles. Partly out of our own collection, and partly from good clients and friends.
We tried to have a collection from different years, from 1900 till end of the eighties. Also we tried to show the different applications of motorcycles like race motors, crossers and of course "normal road motors".
Of course you can buy many of these motors. This might be a good opportunity to get rid of old guilders before the euro comes! Logical, the borrowed motors are not for sale!
To start with the veterans:
TRIUMPH 1/2 HP of 1907 in a perfect condition.
AJS V Twin of 1914.
SCOTT FLYING SQUIRREL SPORT of 1928; a very special one!
Of the restoration a complete book has been made.
NORTON INTERNATIONAL 350cc; production racer of 1936.
As a very special motor of immediately after the war we have a VINCENT RAPIDE Series C of 1950.
Further a beautiful original MATCHLESS 350cc Trial motor of 1957 and a replica BSA GOLDSTAR 500cc in "6 days" model. This one is just back from a rough tour across the Belgium Ardennes; not yet really carefully cleaned, but is ready for its next tour.
Special attention for a newly built SEELY/ ABSAF racer.
This machine belongs to Dick Kegel. Completely built with new parts and, because of the sponsoring, in the "house colours" of The Motorcycle Company. It is a new frame, completely nickel plated and an ABSAF block, a Newby plate clutch and a 5-gear clutch of BSA. And the motor is completely built conform the wishes of the owner with as an extra Grimeca Speziale brake-drum in the front.
There is an original SEELY with BSA GOLDSTAR 500cc. of 1964; this motor is completely restored and is in a "showroom condition".
Like you see, up to now all English motors. But we did not forget the admirer of Italian motors. Some of them you could already admire on our Ducati Day on November 24. But they are so special, that they will be present again. So also the crate which wasd on that day to unveil the DUCATI MIKE HAILWOOD REPLICA of 1983.
Of course the factory ENDURANCE racer is there and also a beautiful DUCATI 750S and a 900SS of 1977.
Another special is the MV AGUSTA 750S AMERICA in original condition with only 1380 km on the teller!
As Italian racers you can see a MOTO MORINI SETTEBELLO racer 175cc and several DUCATI 1 cylinder racers.
You see, more than enough reasons to come and see and enjoy. The motors stay till the end of the first week in January.
AND, of course the (free) coffee is ready for you. This time even with the right cookies!

3. Ducati Beveldrive Day at The Motorcycle Company big success !
=========================================================
Judging from the amount of people who coped with the wet weather last Saturday the 24th of November, classic Ducati's can still count on many fans, despite all modern clamour coming from Bologna these days. On this day The Motorcycle Company (TMC) in Bergambacht, Holland (classic British and Italian bike dealers, situated between Rotterdam and Utrecht) organised a day especially for classic bevel drive Ducati's, attracting people from as far apart as northern France and the utter north-eastern regions of Holland, some of them even arriving by classic Duke themselves!
Top of the bill was theng by local classic racing ace Piet Kramer of a crate with the historic Ducati logo. Although the showroom was crowded with people by then, they held their breath at what would emerge from the crate. This turned out to contain a brand new beveldrive Ducati 900 Mike Hailwood Replica of 1983/4 vintage. The bike hadn't seen the light of day for about the last 18 years after leaving the factory. This bike, which is on sale now, was offered to TMC recently through one of their Italian contacts. Not believing what we heard, we immediately rushed off for Italy, where we finally secured the bike.
Throughout the day everyone joined in naturally, discussing what they saw while enjoying a drink and a bite. The famous Bologna brand's history was presented by means of a show of some 20 bikes (ranging from a 1948 Cucciolo to a 1983 900 Mike Hailwood Replica), which were presented inside with informative texts. Also a free leaflet with a summarative history of Ducati was at hand. Although part of the collection came from Harm and Robert of TMC themselves, quite a few people helped out with bikes on loan, some of them brought along that day spontaneously.
In the back of the shop TMC promoted its programme of Ducati beveldrive parts on offer, varying from rare second hand jumble parts, through the programme for racing and restoration of Mario Sassi's Old Racing Spare Parts (of which TMC are importers for Holland), to the newly acquired exclusive dealership for Holland and Flanders of technical parts for beveldrive Dukes from VeeTwo Australia. All in all good news for beveldrive fans in the low countries (and beyond?)!
TMC has planned several special Theme Saturdays for coming spring; see further on in this Newsletter.
